Les Paul next to Original Mutt Body Shape

This kustomer photo offers a good opportunity to talk about the Original Mutt Body Shape.

It isn't an accident:

The LP is definitely part of the inspiration for my double cutaway Mutt design.
The LP Special Double Cut is probably even more of an inspiration.
So is the Gretsch Duo Jet.
As are--the Gibson SG and the Gretsch Corvette.

Why?
Several reasons.
These are the guitars I want in Left Handed Kustomized Versions but can't afford.
I think they're the best designed guitars ever.

Quite interesting, is that all these guitars take on entirely different characteristics
depending whether you mount Humbuckers or P-90's or Filtertrons or Dynasonics or Mini-Humbuckers.
Each of those guitars also change considerably depending on the hardwoods chosen.

For instance,
nobody can deny the difference between Johnny Thunders' all Mahogany LP Special w/ P-90s
compared to say
Jimmy Pages' Maple Cap on Mahogany LP Standard w/ Dual PAF's.

Well guess what happens when you choose The Original Mutt Body Shape...
...you get similar possibilities to either replicate familiar classic tones
 or
invent entirely new tones of your own.
AND you're still in that
familiar size/weight comfort zone of those other classic guitars.

Additionally, with a Mutt you can add a Komfort Kontour on the back or swap any of the components
to your hearts content--and not to disparage the others, but I personally feel that the Original
Mutt Body is MORE COMFORTABLE than those beloved inspiration guitars that influenced it.

Not too shabby for a real hardwood kustom guitar that only costs between $249 and $500 bucks!
